Wait

A situation in my life haunts me. It just does and it should. It’s one of those situations where I can make an incredible stink, which I have every right to do, to make it go away. But that response would likely crush at least a few innocent lives. And it really isn’t my situation to fix anyway. So I have left it alone.

The most difficult part is there is no end in sight. That thought wears on me at times. It tempts me to make a stink, but the Lord has enabled me to endure.

Late spring I received word. Next year the situation should dissolve. To go from never ending to about a year – HOORAY!!!! Not to mention circumstances were evolving where the situation would be in the forefront. I was so grateful and encouraged that the Lord knew my plight and had taken care of it. It may be a year, but I can wait!

But then disappointment came late summer. It fell through. The situation is not going to dissolve. The circumstances are still looming in the near future.

Am I angry? No. Am I disappointed? YES! Am I fearful? Maybe.

As the circumstances draw near, I realize, it will be okay. I may have moments of doubt, but I can also see how the Lord is using it to transform and strengthen me and I can see other areas where He has and is working.

Well, the time is here. And yes, I have doubtful moments. Last night actually.

This morning I poured my heart out to Jesus.

Later today I learn, on the very day the circumstances began, He dissolved the situation. It’s gone. And the timing is His fingerprint, His loving affirmation. I am beaming!

Ephesians 3:13-21 Therefore I ask you not to lose heart at my tribulations on your behalf, for they are your glory. For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.
